It’s a funny time of the year for me: my home city is at its busiest, but I tend to always miss out due to my panto commitments. I guess I’m looking at this as something I *3wish*2 I could enjoy for myself this Christmas – and it’s a neat combination of two of my favourite things, Edinburgh and Christmas.

The whole buzz around this year’s Edinburgh’s Christmas has been fantastic. Starting off with the huge crowds that welcomed Sir Chris flicking the lights on, to the pictures on Facebook and Twitter of those brave enough to try the Star Flyer, to the market and fabulous Christmas theme that now dominates St Andrews Square and George Street. It seems to have something for everyone, with the markets and attractions that will thrill the family and the rather exotic Limbo in the fabulous Spiegeltent, which offers a rather saucy festive offering combining circus and cabaret.

The idea of heading into town wrapped up and taking in the festive sights, sounds and smells is just magical – I only hope I get a chance to do it myself!
