Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow sets the stage for international Battle of the Bands competition

Emerging artists to compete to win a cash prize and all-expenses paid trip to New York City
Calling all up-and-coming musicians: Hard Rock International is once again on the lookout for the next big thing, and will be making a stop in Glasgow for their international Battle of the Bands competition. Chosen alongside the likes of other music capitals like Nashville, Seattle, Sydney, Moscow and Curitiba, the competition opens the stage to emerging musicians, bands, DJs and MCs of all stripes. The winners will not only receive a cool $15,000 in cash, but they will also embark on an all-expenses paid trip to New York City to perform at Hard Rock New York in front of record label execs.
Artists have up until Sat 9 Feb to submit a sample of their work online, in which they must demonstrate their creativity by covering a well-known song in a style different to the original. Selected performers will get a chance to show off their skills to a panel of judges and a hometown crowd at their local Hard Rock Cafe. Two acts will then be crowned regional winners and awarded $1,000 before moving into the next round, where the public get their say by voting for their favourite artists on an online form. The top three musicians will then receive the ultimate prize at Hard Rock New York, formerly the storied Paramount Theatre in Times Square.
Scottish musicians already have quite the winning streak at the competition, with Glasgow-based band 100 Fables reaching the global finals in 2016 after topping the regionals, as did Break the Butterfly in 2015. Truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, emerging artists can enter the competition for free and be one step closer to the limelight.
