Hidden Door announces 12 new music acts for its last shift at Paper Factory
Combining electronica, folk, rock and more, the new batch of performers were selected from an open call intended to champion local talent

Hidden Door, Edinburgh’s leading pop-up arts festival, has added 12 more acts to its line-up, each of which has been selected from an open call which received more than 300 applicants. The open call itself was coordinated and co-curated with Creative Edinburgh and the National Centre For Music, and intended to introduce up-and-coming artists to a wider audience.
The selected acts are: Azamiah, Buffet Lunch, Dinosaur 94, Doom Scroller, Emma Dunlop, Evie Waddell, HANSKLAMMER, maniatrix (pictured above), Molly Sellors and Charlotte Devlin, Post Coal Prom Queen, Taupe and Thundermoon.
Hazel Johnson, director of Hidden Door, said: ‘Every year, we are blown away by the breadth and quality of applications we receive to our open call, and the amazing musical talent that exists across Scotland.
‘This year’s selections reflect the core themes of our wider programme for The Last Shift At The Paper Factory: Out Of Place Objects, exploring fragments that don't belong; Stone Tape Theory, where the building and walls act as recorders of emotion and gesture; and the Myth Of A Building, a portable architecture made from the ruins of a half-remembered place.
‘We are thrilled to programme these exceptional acts and can’t wait to welcome them to the stage at this year’s Hidden Door.’
Music remains a crucial part of the programme, with a varied line-up of acts taking to the stage across the five nights. Highlights include enigmatic electro-pop act BIG WETT; experimental one-man-band performer ICHI; feminist DJ collective EPiKA; Norwegian singer-songwriter, producer and novelist Jenny Hval; Skye Gaelic-electronic fusion duo Valtos; the energetic Tinderbox Orchestra; acclaimed harpist Dara Dubh; and orchestral pop act Lauren Auder.
The festival, which will take place from Wednesday 3–Sunday 7 June at Edinburgh’s Paper Factory, will also bring together a raft of sound, movement, performance and visual art which welcomes more than 100 creatives into a single venue. Read more about the programme here.
