Edinburgh Dungeon reveals its latest show: a search for the infamous London killer

We know it’s (probably) not Montague John Druitt, John Pizer or even Lewis Carroll, so Jack the Ripper may well still be on the loose (if you suspend your disbelief for a second, here).

According to the folks at Edinburgh Dungeon, he’s hot footed it to Edinburgh – no mean feat for a guy who must be at least 127 years old. Instead of fleeing for safety like any normal person would in the face of an ageless serial killer, they’re inviting you to play detective and follow his shady trail around the dungeon to see if you can spot where he’ll strike next. We’re not sure we’d recommend getting all up in his grill if you want to remain unmurdered, but whatever floats your boat.

The Dungeon’s resident Newspaper Boy (he should definitely watch his back), is on hand to provide clues, then it’s up to visitors to decide: Who was Jack? Where did he go? And is Jack back?

While you’re at it, you can check out the Dungeon’s other spine-tinglers: The Green Lady, Sawney Bean: Cave of the Cannibals, Dr Knox’s Academy Theatre, The Business of Murder and, of course, Drop Dead: The Drop Ride to Doom.

‘Where’s Jack’ runs from Fri 3 Jul–Mon 31 Aug, with extended opening hours throughout August.
