Hollywood star Jamie Foxx has signed up for lead role in musical biopic “The Soloist”, to be directed by Joe Wright. As a classically trained musician Foxx has already won an Oscar for best actor for his acting/singing role as Ray Charles in “Ray” and last year teamed up with DreamWorks for the musical movie “Dreamgirls”. “The Soloist” will be based on a 12 part series of articles from the Los Angeles Times focusing on the ambitions and struggles of homeless musician Nathaniel Anthony Ayers, who dreams of playing at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
