Janey Godley to tour Scotland with special screenings of new documentary about her life
This night of film and live comedy follows the sold-out Gala World Premiere of Janey at the Glasgow Film Festival

Janey Godley has announced a tour in which she’ll screen Janey, a new documentary about her life, followed by a stand-up show based around outtakes from the film. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
The film, directed by John Archer, follows the controversies and successes of Godley’s life, alongside her tour after a diagnosis of ovarian cancer in 2021. The film also features interviews from Jimmy Carr, Nicola Sturgeon, and Godley’s daughter and fellow comedian, Ashley Storrie. In the Janey: On Screen & On Stage tour (which is supported by Screen Scotland) the acerbic Glasgow comic will appear after each screening of the film to share anecdotes and answer questions from the audience.
Discussing the documentary, Godley said, ‘After all I’ve been through these past two years, the film has been the energy boost I needed to pick me up. I hope everyone enjoys the highs and lows of the documentary, there’s laughter and, more than anything, friendship. It’s a love letter to my pals and I can’t wait to see it on the big screen.’
