This one-woman musical comedy is ambitiously staged by Jennifer Tyler, a feat that's particularly impressive as she only had a few weeks to prepare. Having been offered the chance to snap up a last-minute spot at the Fringe, she and her producer jumped in feet-first and the result is this sporadically funny, high-energy examination of her desire to 'always be ready'.

As well as good organisation, Tyler is a very physical performer, dancing around the stage and belting out self-penned show tunes with aplomb. The lyrics are somewhat haphazard and the music sometimes stretches her range, but she's a compelling host and her terpsichorean tendencies are enjoyable to watch. An earnest demeanour can sometimes feel a bit too forceful so it helps when her passionate presentation is diluted by song.

A sudden and prolonged scatological digression signals the start of some very personal observations before later revelations shine an introspective light on what we've already seen. The effect is slightly jarring and the protracted coda saps some of the show's energy. But considering the short timescale in which this piece has been constructed, Tyler has done well to produce an interesting show which will undoubtedly grow over time.
