Keeping up with the Kattarshians: six more animal live streams to follow

From puppies to penguins, animals to help you procrastinate
Reality TV may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially when it comes to the drama of the Kardashians or the theatrics of the various Real Housewives and their eccentric families. But thanks to a new Icelandic online reality show, a different breed of celebrity has just crash landed into the hearts and minds of procrastinators everywhere – and they're small, furry and unbelievably cute.
Four tiny kittens make up the cast of Keeping up with the Kattarshians, a show with a very simple concept that seems to have bewildered and amazed the world. The kittens, Guðni, Ronja, Briet, and Stubbur, live together in a giant dollhouse with toys and miniature bunkbeds as hidden cameras track their every move. But the purpose of the show is not just to entertain the masses; instead it aims to draw attention to animal adoption through a partnership with the Icelandic Cat Protection Society.
Don't get too attached though (if you can help it) because the idea is for the cats themselves to eventually get adopted. And the four little kittens have already found their forever homes, with new kittens expected to move into the house shortly. As well as working towards raising awareness for an excellent cause, Keeping up with the Kattarshians has thus far succeeded in bringing joy to cat (and animal) lovers around the world.
To satisfy your craving for adorable animals, we've put together a list of some of our other favourite live animal streams for your viewing pleasure.
Maximilian Schnauzers Live Puppy Cam
There's surely nothing better than watching a pile of Schnauzer puppies run around and play together. That's exactly what the Maximilian Schnauzers puppy cam allows you to do. The company has set up the webcams to give new owners the chance to follow their puppy's progress before they can officially take them home. What's more, a portion of all money raised from the sale of the puppies goes to Johns Hopkins Cancer Research.
Edinburgh Zoo Penguin Cam
If you've been to Edinburgh Zoo and experienced the Penguin Parade, you'll know how cool those little guys are. Edinburgh Zoo's live stream allows you to keep track of the famous colony through a view of Europe's largest outdoor penguin pool.
Brooks Falls Bearcam
Watch the bears of Katmai National Park in Alaska frolicking about in the waters of Brooks Falls, where you might just get to see them fishing for salmon.
Smithsonian's National Zoo Lion Cam
Lions may be traditionally fierce and ferocious but on the Lion Cam, you'll mostly just see them chilling out and sleeping – basically acting like the big cats that they are.
San Diego Zoo Panda Cam
San Diego Zoo has a few different live streams but the panda cam is one worth checking out. They may be elusive animals but it's interesting to watch them go about their daily (and amazingly lazy) lives.
Warrior Canine Connection Puppy Cam
The Maryland based organisation trains puppies to help wounded veterans reconnect with life. Through their puppy cam, you can watch the puppies training hard (or mostly play-fighting). While the organisation waits for a new litter, the puppy cam shows highlights from previous streams on a loop so you'll always have something to make you smile.
