La Clique returns to Edinburgh for Christmastime residency
La Clique Noël will bring the cabaret show’s well-loved brand of sexy circus chaos to Bristo Square for seven weeks throughout November, December and January
La Clique, the long-running chaotic cabaret spectacle, has announced a seven-week residency in Edinburgh’s Bristo Square, marking the first time a Spiegeltent has been pitched outside McEwan Hall. Running from Friday 20 November 2026–Sunday 3 January 2027, the Olivier Award-winning show will be performed six days a week, with matinees on weekends, under the festive-themed title La Clique Noël.
Known for its cutting-edge circus shenanigans, this year’s cast will include Heather Holliday, a sword swallower and fire-breather; David Pereira, an award-winning ‘shaving acrobat’ and aerialist; Mario Queen Of The Circus, a showman known for his crowdsurfing, and many more.
The cabaret fun is presented as part of Edinburgh’s Christmas roster, which includes Santa’s Stories, the LNER Big Wheel and the Around The World Starflyer. The world-famous traditional Christmas markets will once again pop up in Princes Street Gardens in the capital’s New Town from Saturday 14 November 2026–Sunday 3 January 2027, hosting decorated chalets selling gifts, décor and festive food.
La Clique’s David Bates said: ‘Christmas and Hogmanay feel like the perfect time for La Clique to return to its birthplace in Edinburgh. This very special cast are delighted to be in town for seven weeks - resident in the perfect environment which itself is the star of the show - the Palais du Variété Spiegeltent in Bristo Square. La Clique has played to millions of folk in its 22 years but none more special than the audiences in its Auld home toon! Fresh, new, cutting edge - La Clique is a reinvention of itself and this year will be no exception. Strap yourself in, leave your troubles at the door and escape with us!’
The return of La Clique will be a welcome sight for the many fans disappointed by its conspicuous absence during this year’s Fringe. The touring show’s Famous Spiegeltent failed to meet new planning regulations which deemed it a ‘permanent structure’ if it's in place for more than 28 days, leading to its last-minute cancellation and a rare no-show for the beloved cabaret show since its inception in Edinburgh in 2004.
