Edinburgh-based folk trio Lau are set to release part two in a series of three EPs that showcase the different influences upon their sound. ‘Ghosts’ draws attention to their more electronic and experimental leanings, and was the result of a collaboration with Domino-signed producer and artist Adem.

The pairing seems an obvious choice – what with Adem being just as comfortable performing delicate acoustic guitar laments as he is building doof-doof techno-pop beats. In addition to his solo work under his own name, Adem also plays bass alongside Kieran ‘Four Tet’ Hebden in recently-resurrected post-rock outfit Fridge. In addition to this, makes big, throbbing, euphoric electro-pop with Johnny Lynch as the duo Silver Columns .

Adem had been a fan of Lau’s music since attending their sell-out show at Edinburgh Queens Hall in 2009 and worked out they shared connections via engineers, fellow musicians and mutual friends on the Scottish music scene.

Lau – who are made up of Kris Drever (guitar, vocals), Martin Green (accordion, piano) and Aidan O’Rourke (fiddle) went down to Adem’s London studio last year to record the ‘Ghosts’ EP.
