One of late Irish comic Frank Carson's catchphrases was 'it's the way I tell 'em'. You might not immediately equate the Lazy Susan duo of Celeste Dring and Freya Parker with that old-school entertainer but in Crazy Sexy Fool, it's often not what's coming out of their mouths that's funny, but the silly voices or curious vocal mannerisms they adopt in delivering their lines. None of which is to say that there's not great lines cracking all across Lazy Susan's third Fringe hour, but it's the form rather than detailed content which more likely hits the target.

After a hyper-real opening salvo, the pair settle into their groove, with an underlying narrative thread about an imaginary horse (called Gary) which Parker has fallen for, leading to a hilariously tumultuous finale. Surrounding this key tale is the fraught working relationship between a wild-haired US news anchor and his chief reporter, while Christina Aguilera struggles with the attentions of a young fan, and Chelsea's version of the Olsen twins offer rubbish life tips. All the while, the pair take turns to race for the bathroom trolley upon which their wigs and costumes are stored.

It can't have been easy seeing the trio of Daphne boys in their front two rows, but Lazy Susan ploughed on, receiving a generous heap of laughs from their comedic peers as well as the paying customers. In sketch comedy terms, Parker and Dring may well be the silly voices of their generation.
