Leith School of Art announces end of year exhibition

The End of Year Exhibition at Leith School of Art will open on Friday 20th June.

Now in its 20th year, the Leith School of Art continues to actively promote and encourage artistic talent to the highest level. The School enjoys an excellent reputation both at home and abroad and offers a wide range of full and part time courses suitable for school leavers and others wishing to pursue a career in the visual arts and for those with a keen interest. Past students include Scottish contemporary artists Toby Patterson and Pernille Spence.

The Principal, Philip Archer said: "We strive in our teaching, to provide a framework through which each individual can develop their own personal response with purpose and direction which I think is evident in this year’s show. The students have worked extremely hard and have attained incredibly high standards."

Upon graduating, many of the students have gone on to gain places at some of the most prestigious art schools in the UK and abroad – including Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow School of Art, The Royal College of Art, The Slade, The Ruskin, Goldsmiths, The Royal Academy, St Martins College of Art, and Ecole des Beaux Arts in France, and the New York Academy of Art in the USA amongst others.

The art exhibition is open to the public on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st June 10.00am – 4.00pm. For further information about the exhibition or the courses on offer, please see: www.leithschoolofart.co.uk
