Ubiquitous Chip
12 Ashton Lane, Glasgow
This iconic brasserie is part of the Ashton Lane furniture, serving the best Scottish produce and a hell of a drinks list for over 40 years. The rooftop terrace comes to life in summer, with delicious food and vibrant cocktails blending that upmarket restaurant-terrace vibe with the ease of hanging out on your rich mate’s fancy balcony.

Mara
58 The Shore, Edinburgh
The phrase ‘what a vibe’ has never been more suitable. Mara’s huge terrace is the perfect spot to catch some sun while avoiding the tourist-heavy streets of Edinburgh. Its casual demeanour, both in food and drinks, creates the perfect hangout spot for daytime drinking and watching the sunset; head back into the cosy interior when the temperature inevitably drops.

Little Capo
18 Howe Street, Edinburgh
Cost-of-living crisis put the brakes on that trip to Naples? Luckily a perfect slice of Italy has landed on your doorstep. The small plate/wine bar trend may have decimated originality in many neighbourhoods, but Little Capo brings some much-needed Italian sunshine to the cobbled New Town streets. Incredible wine, aperitivos and phenomenal food are only upstaged by knowledgeable staff and warm hospitality. It’s a must-visit.
