Basement Jaxx, Hot Chip, Prides, Sasha and more join them at new festival
A brand new festival for Dundee Carnival Fifty Six will take place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August at Camperdown Park in association with 71 Brewing, Dundee's urban craft brewery. The eclectic lineup includes Satudray headliner DJ and super producer Mark Ronson and Hackney drum & bass collective Rudimental, who will be headlining on Sunday alongside electronic/pop/classical outfit Clean Bandit.
Other acts confirmed for the festival include Basement Jaxx who will be performing a killer DJ set, the always animated Cuban Brothers, Glaswegian duo Prides, indie/dance singer-songwriter Boxed In, Dundee's own Be Charlotte, the ever-soulful Elle Exxe, Glasgow-based indie-folk/experimental pop musician Jonnie Common and a whole host of local Scottish bands such as Vladimir, Tijuana Bibles and Miracle Glass Company.
To amp up the party atmosphere, Carnival Fifty Six will also be bringing Hot Chip to Camperdown for a special DJ set, along with plenty of other giants of the electronic music world. Expect to see Sasha, James Zabiela, Dace Seaman, Denis Sulta, Harri & Domenic, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams plus sets from leading Scottish club nights and venues including Rhumba, Nik Nak, Hector's House, Paradise Palms and Groovement.
Speaking about the announcement, festival director Craig Blyth said:
'We are really pleased to be announcing this year's Carnival Fifty Six line up. Mark Ronson is in a class of his own, few artists match the energy of Rudimental live and Clean Bandit are one of the biggest acts today. We're delighted to have them join us as headliners in Dundee on a bill which has real depth and quality.'
More acts are still to be announced, with over 100 artists expected across five stages.
Tickets start at £40 and go on sale on Mon 27 Feb at 9am.
