Tributes have been paid to Scottish rally champion Colin McRae, who was killed in a helicopter crash near his home in Lanarkshire.
The 39-year-old was in a Twin Squirrel helicopter with his five-year-old son Johnny and two others, including a six-year-old boy.
Formula One driver David Coulthard said of his friend: “He was fearless, flamboyant, blindingly quick in the car.”
Sir Jackie Steward also offered his condolences to the family, including widow Alison and their nine-year-old daughter Hollie.
“It’s a sad loss for Scotland, of a real hero and an immensely popular friend.”
McRae was the first Briton named world champion and was awarded an MBE by the Queen for his achievements.
