Morrissey LA gigs cancelled but singer reveals album plans
Morrissey’s 10-day run at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles was hit after a water main was damaged.
Two of the shows at the 4,000 capacity venue were cancelled, said promoter Live Nation.
However tickets for the Tuesday and Thursday gigs can be used for the October 8 and 9 shows, or refunded.
The 48-year-old has been on the road for 18 months, with the 177 dates to conclude in Washington on November 2.
Meanwhile Morrissey has revealed plans to release a new album next year, which will stay true to his signature social and political rhetoric.
The singer said he had written the album already and plans to record it in the US, but added it wouldn’t be ready until September next year.
The former Smiths legend said of his musical style: “I’m outside the mainstream, and the mainstream never let me in.”
His last album, The Ringleader of the Tormentors, reached number one in the UK in 2006, and was the last album to be released by record label Sanctuary.
Morrissey has since had an offer from Warner Brothers.
