Music video premiere: Mt Doubt's 'Reference Books'
Exclusive stream of Mt Doubt's latest video
The latest track taken from Mt Doubt's new EP, The Loneliness of the TV Watchers, is 'Reference Books'; a blend of jangly guitars and stark lyrics, creating dark, pure indie. The video for the track is minimalist and playful; the band switch from clear, striking figure in front of a plain background to silhouettes against video footage, and back again while the song crescendos around them.
'The video [by Gareth Goodlad of Posable Action Figures] perfectly sums up the song's simplistic, fuzzy rough and tumble,' says frontman Leo Bargery. 'While musically this track is one of our most straightforward and to-the-point songs to date, it's also definitely our "rockiest" output. Lyrically, though, it's one of my favourites so far. It's largely concerned with the idea of being caught up in a new relationship and all that entails, and the gradual disintegration of that experience.'
