NME names coolest people in rock
The 23-year-old frontman of a punk band who was tattooed on stage at this year's Reading Festival has been named the coolest person in rock by NME.
The lead singer of Gallows, Frank Carter, was followed by Jamie Reynolds from the Klaxons in second and CSS frontwoman Lovefoxx in third.
The editor of the NME, Conor McNicholas, said: '30 years after the height of punk there are a whole load of new bands making wild and passionate noise.
'But it takes more than just great music to make it to the top of the cool list. These people effortlessly set trends with every breath they take.'
The Cribs' Ryan Jarman listed fourth, while rapper Lethal Bizzle, Alex Turner and Kate Nash make five, six and seven respectively.
At number eight, the magazine said Amy Winehouse's beehive had remained coolly in place despite her hedonistic lifestyle over the last year.
The list was rounded off with last year's winner Beth Ditto at nine and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards at 10.
