Noel Gallagher has announced that he will be playing with his new High Flying Birds project in a series of dates around the UK in late October. The singer-songwriter had previously announced the Dublin date on the tour at a press conference; further gigs will be announced in the near future.

Noel's solo career has been the subject of much anticipation ever since Oasis's split in August 2009. While Liam went on immediately to form Beady Eye with the remnants of the band, Noel has stayed largely out of the limelight, and hasn't performed live aside from a couple of dates last March, in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. His new single, the video for which you can watch below, was released in July. The album, entitled Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, is due for release on Mon 17 Oct.

The tour dates that have been announced so far are:

Thu 27 Oct, Usher Hall, Edinburgh
Sat 29 Oct, HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London
