Adelaide’s clowning scene for kids could use a little TLC: luckily Haide Männamäe and Toomas Tross (better known as the clown duo Piip and Tuut) have come all the way from Estonia to help us clean up our act. Though, judging by the broom Tuut carries around, they may have taken that job a little too literally.

Before clowns were used as nightmare fuel in B-grade movies made to scare the bejesus out of you, they were innocent and jovial in spirit. Clowns create a world for kids and adults alike to be playful and embrace some good old-fashioned silliness: that’s exactly what Piip and Tuut have curated. This performance centres around two janitor clowns who haphazardly end up on stage ready to perform a concert (well, so it seems). From there, the duo utilises various props and sounds to create an immersive world that draws the audience in. Expect some crowd participation but don’t worry, only brave, self-elected children are invited to take the stage, adding an extra layer of unpredictability that only kids can bring. This show probably won’t convince your children to run away and join the circus, but it will deliver plenty of giggles and might even send them home with a few new tricks.
