Video game concert celebrating Pokémon comes to London Apollo

Following sold-out performances across North America, Pokémon Symphonic Evolutions are offering you a chance to ‘catch them all’ at their live show at London’s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith on Sun 20 Dec.

Pokémon Symphonic Evolutions is a video game concert with orchestral arrangements set to large-screen video projections drawn from recent and classic Pokémon video games. The orchestra varies depending on the destination with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performing in London. They are conducted by Susie Benchasil Seiter, not Pikachu in a tux like the poster suggestions.

The show features music composed by Chad Seiter, based on the game themes composed by Junichi Masuda, and animation conceptualised and directed by Jeron Moore. Susie Benchasil Seiter, Chad Seiter and Jeron Moore will all be in attendance at the after-show poster signing.

Pokémon is the second most successful video game-based media franchise in the world, behind a certain Italian plumber. Beginning as a Game Boy game in 1996 the franchise now spans multiple video games, animated TV series, films, comics and toys. The music and visuals at Pokémon Symphonic Evolutions is drawn from video games spanning all six generations.

Tickets go on general sale Fri 18 Sep.
