The sequel to Trainspotting is still in the sidings according to author Irvine Welsh. Porno, his follow-up novel to his breakout hit, is still waiting on a workable screenplay, though the author did reveal it is currently being worked on by John Hodge who was nominated for an Oscar for his work on Trainspotting. During a question and answer session at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Welsh also admitted that original stars Ewan McGregor, Johnny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle would have to be involved for the film to be a success. However, since McGregor fell out with director Danny Boyle after he was bumped from the Beach in favour of Leonardo DiCaprio, there may be a long wait.
