It’s that time of year again, when the Southside and the West End begin manouvering their respective festivals for a dance-off. It’s basically like the Jets and the Sharks with less singing and more community-based activity and marquees in the park. The Southside Festival is up first this year, with a day of live music, stalls and workshops in Queen’s Park, all kicked off as ever with a mini Notting Hill Carnival snaking through the streets of the Southside.
