Rebel Rebel cabaret review: A fun night out
Dusty Limits hosts this David Bowie variety show featuring a rotating cast of Fringe acts

The ballroom at The Voodoo Rooms is made for Fringe: tucked away, swathed in black cloth and proudly spinning what might be the biggest mirror ball in town. Rebel Rebel, a variety show (not a tribute show) celebrating David Bowie, fits right in. Dusty Limits is our host, bringing the cabaret vibes with his sly crowd work and sharp asides, while his genuine and evident love of Bowie brings the heart. Limits is also the main vocalist for the evening, with a rotating cast of Fringe faves dropping by. You might be lucky enough to see the incomparable Aidan Sadler, whose version of ‘Life On Mars’ breaks hearts for all the right reasons. While Bowie plus burlesque might not be the combo you left the house for, it’s a fab way to kick-start a Fringe night out, with the opportunity to support charity Cabaret vs Cancer as an added bonus.
Rebel Rebel, The Voodoo Rooms, until 16 August, 7.30pm.
