Remix premiere: C Duncan remasters Jonnie Common's 'Restless'

It's not even been released yet, but Jonnie Common's new single, 'Restless', has been given a new lease of life by fellow Scot pop fave C Duncan.
'Restless' came out of Common's low-key live shows, borne of doodling around with new material in super stripped back forms. Or, in Common's own words: '[It's] a dulcet siren issued from the trig point on a mountain of student debt.'
'C Duncan has always been flatteringly positive about my work and, as a result, I've played a few shows with him over the past couple of years,' says Common. 'It felt entirely appropriate for him to remix this particular track as I played it live for the first time at one of those very shows. When he sent me the remix, he referred to his guitar playing as "90s sitcom style". I'm guessing he drew the line at adding some Seinfeld-y slap bass.'
Common has a lot going on this autumn: as well as the release of 'Restless', he's playing gigs from 5-9 Oct in Edinburgh, Stirling, Glasgow and London, and, also on Fri 7 Oct, will be appearing in a BBC2 programme he scored, alongside poet and playwright Ross Sutherland. C Duncan is fresh from being shortlisted for a SAY Award this year for his latest album The Midnight Sun.
