Richard Hammond in new speed stunt

Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond has got back behind the wheel with typical aplomb, taking part in a new high speed stunt for the BBC Show.

Less than a year after a 288mph crash nearly killed him, the 37-year-old drove a Bugatti Veyron, racing a Typhoon fighter jet at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.

Hammond drove the car - said to be the world’s fastest production car - a mile down the runway, while the jet flew overhead, before turning around.

The stunt was filmed as part of the new series of Top Gear, which will be shown in October.
