RockNess 2013 comedy line-up announced

Dylan Moran, Jim Jefferies and Daniel Sloss lead this year’s stand-up bill at Scottish music festival

Following 2012’s year’s killer set from Tim Minchin, music festival RockNess once more prove their commitment to laughs as well as dance beats. Foul-mouthed comic Jim Jefferies will be reaching out over the taste barrier with his only Scottish appearance of the year on the banks of Loch Ness. Jefferies will be joint comedy headliner alongside off beat/downbeat Irish comic Dylan Moran (Black Books).

Other acts announced include a return visit from young Scottish comic Daniel Sloss plus an absolutely huge bill rounded out by Des Clarke, Janey Godley, Mark Nelson, Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III, Alan Anderson, Allan J Park, Anna Devitt, Ashley Godley, Billy Kirkwood, Bratchy, Chris Conroy, Chris Forbes, Chris Henry, Dan Petherbridge, Davey Connor, Dogshit Johnson, Eddie Cassidy, Gary Little, Jamie Dalgleish, Jellybeen Martinez, John Gavin, John McGoldrick, John Walker, Josh Dunn, Julia Sutherland, Kai Humphries, Mikey Adams, Ray Bradshawe, Scott Agnew, Scott Cassidy & The Better Musicians, Scott Gibson, Stuart Mitchell, Vocal Point and The Wee Man.

It wouldn’t be RockNess without a special guest appearance by The Cuban Brothers joining previously announced music acts and DJs such as Fatboy Slim, Plan B, Example, Basement Jaxx, Madness, The Vaccines and Above & Beyond.

‘The comedy programme has been a brilliant addition to the festival and its gone from strength to strength,’ says Festival Director Jim King. ’We’re really honoured that Jim Jefferies has chosen RockNess as the only gig he’s doing in Scotland this year, and one of only two for the whole of the UK. Dylan Moran will go down a storm too for sure. This is a great announcement of the very best from the Scottish comedy circuit including some really must-see breakthrough acts. The Comedy Arena is going to be the place to grab a drink, kick back and have a few laughs.’

RockNess, Dores, near Inverness, Fri 7-Sun 9 Jun 2013.
