Melanie Brown is the next British star to get her dancing shoes on hoping to make her name in a hit show across the pond.

The pop star, otherwise known as Scary Spice, will follow in the footsteps of Heather Mills McCartney and pair up with a professional for the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

She joins 11 other stars for the competition which kicks off on the ABC network on September 25. The line up includes actress Jane Seymour, singer Marie Osmond and boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Contestants will face a public vote based on their performance that week to stay in the show.

Scary will at the same time be preparing for the forthcoming Spice Girls reunion tour, which starts in Canada at the end of the year.
