The entirely unnecessary cinema adaptation of Sex and the City has taken a step closer to becoming a reality after Jennifer Hudson was signed on to appear.

She’ll apparently play Sarah Jessica Parker’s assistant in the movie which is set four years on from the events of the ever-gripping TV series.

Chris Noth, who we’ll all remember as the show’s Mr Big, is slated to return and SATC, as one is contractually obliged to call it, writer Michael Patrick King will be writing and directing this one.
