The rather unlikely-sounding title of Shazia Mirza's latest Fringe outing is Fun. But don't go expecting ice-cream, balloons and bouncy castles. In fact the title was truncated from Fun in Paradise, inspired by Islamic suicide bombers' belief that their reward in heaven will be a sizzling encounter with 72 virgins. This notorious image leads the famously dour Mirza to share her own notions of what she would love to be rewarded with when heaven comes calling.

Having been raised by her strict religious parents to eschew enjoyment in all its many forms on earth, the comic envisions a huge Primark in the sky, where she can shoplift shoes to her heart's content while dressed in gold and with a spectacular hairdo. While she takes a wee while to get into her stride, the wry, misanthropic observations are sharp-eyed and delivered with disarming comic timing. (Allan Radcliffe)
