Stag & Dagger festival announces first wave of acts for 2025 in Glasgow

The long-running Stag & Dagger is back in 2025 and has announced its first wave of acts, featuring a musical melange of rock, indie and pop. Taking place across multiple venues in Glasgow on Saturday 3 May, tickets for the all-dayer are on sale now.

Included in the line-up are Big Special (pictured above), a post-punk duo whose album Postindustrial Hometown Blues received broad critical acclaim and led to them teaming up with John Grant for a special single titled ‘Stay Down, Lazarus’. Joining them on the bill is American indie rock act Vundabar, Liverpool rockers Stone, indie anthem peddlers The Clause, hard rockers Grandma’s House, and 16-year-old indie rock wunderkind re6ce.

Grandma's House

Previous line-ups featured artists who went on to become major international stars such as Ed Sheeran, Lizzo and Passenger, while other notable past acts include Royal Blood, Django Django, Frightened Rabbit, Toro Y Moi, Ghostpoet, The Twilight Sad, Mac DeMarco, We Were Promised Jetpacks, The Hold Steady, Albert Hammond Jr, Fat White Family, Ezra Furman, Band Of Skulls, DMA's, Gang Of Youths, Let's Eat Grandma and Glasvegas.

Stag & Dagger is booked by PCL and the team at Sneaky Pete’s. Booker Craig Gornall said, ‘It’s great to be involved in bringing Stag & Dagger back for another year. We have an exciting line up filled with new talent, as well as a couple of familiar faces.
‘There’s lots to love in that top tier. Vundabar are long-overdue a return to Scotland, bands like Big Special and The Clause have a real energy around them, and we’re very happy to have Stone on the bill as well, after their previous shows supporting DMA's.

‘We have plenty more artists still to announce and what's so exciting is that any of them could be tomorrow's big stars. That has always been part of the adventure at Stag & Dagger, so keep an eye out for the next wave of artist announcements in the coming weeks.’
