Regular Music has unveiled the line-up for the 11th edition of Summer Nights At The Bandstand, with the popular concert series returning to Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand from Monday 27 July to Saturday 15 August.

Now firmly established as one of the city’s summer highlights, the award-winning programme brings a mix of international stars and Scottish favourites to the West End venue. This year’s bill opens on Monday 27 July with psychedelic legends The Flaming Lips, followed by a run including Suzanne Vega, Mika and synth-pop pioneers OMD, playing back-to-back shows on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 July.

Pop favourite Sophie Ellis-Bextor plays on Saturday 1 August, before folk-fusion favourites Elephant Sessions and Australian multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana take over on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 August respectively.

One of the centrepieces of the programme is Marti Pellow, returning home for two nights on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 August. Speaking about his appearance, Pellow said: ‘Summer Nights At The Bandstand will be incredibly special to me. Being back home means everything, and sharing music with the people who shaped me makes it even sweeter. Let’s have a Marti Party in the park, bring your dancing shoes and your smiles, and I’ll bring the songs we all know and love.’

Later shows include ABC on Tuesday 11 August, Idlewild on Thursday 13 August, Billy Ocean on Friday 14 August, with the series closing on Saturday 15 August with a double bill from The Bluebells and Friends Again.

John Stout of Regular Music said, ‘We’re excited to announce the line-up for the eleventh Summer Nights At The Bandstand. It’s been a privilege to host so many outstanding artists here, and this year’s programme once again reflects the quality and spirit of the series.’

The festival, which launched in 2014, previously won Unesco City Of Music Best Live Event at the Scottish Music Awards and has hosted more than 100 concerts, with past performers including Patti Smith, Brian Wilson, Primal Scream, Tom Jones and Echo & the Bunnymen.

Gates open each night at 6.30pm, with bars and street food available on site.
