Hello Future, Supa & Da Kryptonites, the Van T's, Turning Plates play Wickerman warm-up gig in June

Four finalists from the Sunday Herald’s unsigned band competition will perform at a Wickerman warm-up gig on Thu 25 Jun.

Hello Future, Supa & Da Kryptonites, The Van T's and Turning Plates are sharing the bill with Hector Bizerk for Thursday’s gig, which is hosted by XFM’s Jim Gellalty.

The four finalists are up for a spot at Wickerman (Sat 24 & Sun 25 Jul) where they could be on the bill with the likes of the Waterboys, Tom Odell, Squeeze, John Cooper Clarke and everyone’s favourite diminutive ‘Shout’-er, Lulu.

Hello Future play good old-fashioned Scottish rock with typical Dundee swagger. Supa & Da Kryptonites are an eight-piece hip hop / soul / grime crossover throwing a brass section into the mix. Sisterly duo, The Van T's, promise ‘everything you’ve ever wanted from a 90s dream.’ Turning Plates bring post rock and contemporary soundscapes. Headlining the bill is Hector Bizerk, a stripped back drum and rap duo touting Scot-hop and rhythm-filled times. Or as the band itself so eloquently puts it: 'DRUMS. RAP. YES.'

The Wickerman Warm-up gig takes place Thu 25 Jun at Nice’n’Sleazy’s.
