The Boy With Tape On His Face - More Tape

Comedy that sticks: an equally formidable collection of games, gags and gambits
Have you been following @tapefaceboy over the last couple of years? If not, you’re probably one of the few who hasn’t. TV appearances, newspaper interviews and comedy awards have saturated the blogosphere with duct tape-based hashtags and propelled Sam Wills into stand-up nobility. The Boy is back this year with an equally formidable collection of games, gags and gambits, all meticulously planned and ingeniously constructed.
For those who don’t know the act, it’s a Vaudevillian prop-comedy gig which is fully reliant on audience interaction. At the mercy of the silent stand-up, spectators are selected at random to partake in the surreal challenges imagined by Wills. It is an utterly immersive experience which slaps a big fat grin on your face; wholly life-affirming, rewarding and innovative. There’s always the danger that a bungling audience member will be chosen who can’t quite manage the tasks, but it adds to the fun of it all. The Boy was a hot ticket last year and More Tape offers the same spry, blissful evening of comedy that sticks.
Pleasance Courtyard, run now ended.
