'We are curious,' Pip proudly proclaims, in between providing belting accompaniment to her record player, 'as to why we are incapable of getting sick of each other'. The identical sisters (portrayed by show creators Kara McLane Burke and Siân Richards) are tempting fate. As the morning wears on the cracks in their pairing begin to show.

In gentle performances reminiscent of a cross between children's television presenters and characters from The Sims, Burke and Richards transport the sisters from their homely flat to the high seas of adventure. The shy and demure Twig sets off in pursuit of the moon, followed closely by her extroverted sister.

In the clown-inspired performances that use the full expressive palette of the actors, there is a playfulness at the centre of the relationship, even at its most acrimonious. This playfulness extends to the production itself, which relishes the visual potential of the theatre: the ocean scenes are a real treat. That is, once the set has been assembled. Unfortunately, the extended transition undermines the magic.

The storytelling at points risks selling the piece short, with pre-recorded sound effects and repetition overwhelming the drama as the piece nears the end. The twists and turns of Pip and Twig's journey are tortuous, but the characters are brought to vivid, charming life throughout.
