The Flaming Lips announce full album Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots shows: get tickets
The Flaming Lips have announced two full-album shows for Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots next year. Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am on Friday 9 December.
Released during the height of the band’s success in 2002, Yoshimi spawned the chart-topping singles ‘Are You A Hypnotist??’, ‘Fight Test’ and ‘Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots’.
Such was the album’s success, plans were made to turn it into a Broadway musical by The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin and director Des McAnuff. Trapped in development hell, the musical was shelved in 2012.
The album will be played in full at London’s Troxy on Tuesday 25 April and Manchester's O2 Apollo on Saturday 29 April. The psych-pop darlings will also play an already arranged show at London’s Eventim Apollo on Friday 28 April.
