As the world continues to adapt and transform in response to the widespread impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the creative industries have been steadily and collectively finding new ways to stay connected with audiences. With gigs and festivals cancelled for the foreseeable and music tourism taking a real hit as a result of lockdown restrictions, artists have been getting creative with virtual gigs and live-streamed concerts, using online platforms as their newest venues.

Here at The List, we remain committed to bringing you the best in arts, culture and entertainment across the UK. As of March, we've begun accepting submissions for online events as part of our website's listings service, ensuring that anyone broadcasting or hosting a virtual event can get some help spreading the word.

Likewise, GigsGuide, a service originally created to help music lovers find great gigs wherever they travel and that labelled itself as 'the love child of Spotify and Skyscanner', have adapted quickly, bringing music directly to audiences by collating virtual gigs. Not only does this encourage music discovery for the folk quarantined at home, but allows artists to reach new audiences and get a better shot at making money directly from these online events, should they wish to.

As The List and GigsGuide share a common goal – to support and share these events far and wide – we've decided to team up to make sure that information is available and virtual concerts enjoyed by as many people as possible. Listings submitted to GigsGuide via gigs.guide/live will also appear on list.co.uk, with dates, times and links to the stream, as well as any other relevant information.
