The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain

5 words to describe your show
Entertaining, thought-provoking, moving, hilarious, musical. Or you could use our old standbys: virtuosic, stomping, awesome, funny, wish-fulfilling.
4 items that would be on your dream rider
Hot potatoes, gin, a botanical Latin dictionary, hooks on the wall (so many dressing rooms do not have hooks), silence, the ability to count.
3 things that you hope for form your visit to Edinburgh in August New friends; a review which doesn’t use the words ‘madcap’, ‘searing’ or ‘ukulele’; the selling of yet more boxes of our new CD.
2 influences on your music you’d rather not admit to
Pedagogy and the covert transmission of genuinely useful public service information.
1 rumour you’d like to start about the orchestra
No rumours, but here’s some facts some journalists have strangely not believed: we all met in a nightclub. Five of us are trained hairdressers. Six of us are BBC announcers. Ukulele seven is ukulele five’s son. Ukulele eight was in a relationship with ukulele one but now lives with ukulele four. We once played a gig in the Albert Hall.
