TheSpaceUK adds 150 shows to Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024 programme
Expect a brand-new mixture of drama, comedy, physical theatre and more from emerging artists

The veteran arts venue theSpaceUK has announced its latest roster of top acts for 2024’s edition of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (Wednesday 31 July–Monday 26 August), spanning stand-up comedy, poignant dramas, musicals and physical theatre. Tickets for all announced shows are on sale now.

Highlights in the theatre section include Via Dolorosa, an exploration of Israel-Palestine tensions from acclaimed playwright David Hare; What If They Ate The Baby?, which enters the world of housewives’ secrets and societal expectations; a one-act adaptation of Agatha Christie, The Rats; the irreverent tale of ballet dancers, Bluffing Your Way in Ballet; and Bouncers & Shakers an immersive take on 1980s club culture.
In the world of musicals, there’s The Gardening Club: A New Musical, which follows six girls who start an illegal drug ring to distribute birth control pills; Wallis, a deep dive into the life of American socialite Wallis Simpson; the quirky The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; Cadenza, a journey through smooth jazz, angelic choirs, and beloved pop hits; and Celtic Roots which, you guessed it, focuses on the beautiful lilt of Celtic melodies.
On the comedy bill is Andrei Palchyk’s The Ultimate Collection of Reels, an Instagram-inspired collection of jokes tackling the immigrant experience; an unflinching chat about life as a doctor in Keith Mendes: Medical Negligence; and a cheeky subversion of Shakespeare’s Macbeth from the Raymondos, with MacPlebs.
Focusing on new writing from emerging artists, theSpaceUK operates 19 theatres at six venues across three sites including, theSpace@Surgeon’s Hall, theSpace@Symposium Hall, theSpace on the Mile, theSpaceTriplex, theSpace @ Niddry St. and the Space@Venue45. More events will be announced as the Fringe draws nearer.
