Tiffany Stevenson

Gobby, warm and putting the world to rights
Swigging cider and conspiratorial, Tiffany Stevenson manages to make you feel like you’re in your local putting the world to rights. And no stone is left unturned or rogue hair unplucked: class (working; ‘bring back tea and manufacturing!’) and racism and sexual antics and sexism in the media (take a symbolic bow Bruce Forsyth) and ageing (tartly identifying where youth goes to die, and it isn’t unrelated to the aisles of Per Una). Frown lines vs botox and singledom vs settling down, vajazzles, the erosion of culture and the poetry of WB Yeats – she’s got a lot to get through in an hour, and she certainly isn’t one to mince her words. Gobby and warm and wearing the chip on her shoulder like a big old dirty look, she shoots sharp from the hip with natter that paints jaggedly funny pictures. If you want to be in her gang, be inspired to embrace the face and love those wrinkles, choose to ‘get more awesome with age!’ and kick Nuts in the nuts.
