UK's biggest drive-in cinema coming to Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Christmas Spectacular to take up residency at the Royal Highland Show Centre
Forget the turkey, switch off the TV and put away your games – Christmas is all about films. And later this month the Royal Highland Centre plays host to the world's biggest outdoor screen for the Edinburgh Christmas Spectacular.
Designed to replicate the traditional American drive-in cinemas from the 1950s, the 100 square metre LED screen will show Elf, Home Alone, sing-along Frozen, Love Actually, The Muppet's Christmas Carol and Die Hard. That's a diverse selection that pretty much covers all bases.
As well as the screenings, visitors can enjoy a market with food and drink stalls, costume competition and in-car karaoke (caraoke?). Tickets cost £26 per car and visitors can bring their own food or drink, or purchase refreshments from the nearby stalls.
The Edinburgh Christmas Spectacular takes place at Royal Highland Centre from Sat 19 to Wed 23 Dec.
