In case you didn’t know, the word ‘zorro’ is Spanish for ‘fox’, and that’s exactly what this cunning fictional hero does – fox those around him, not just with his deeds but his entire persona. Starting life as a serial in a 1920s US magazine, the tales of Zorro have turned up in books, film, TV and in this instance, the stage. First adapted by Visible Fictions in 2009, Zorro is back, complete with a dynamic new set design that shifts the action between 2D and 3D.

‘I’ve always been intrigued by the character of Zorro,’ says the show’s director, Douglas Irvine, ‘because underneath his swashbuckling antics his identity is complex and mysterious. And if you combine this intriguing justice-seeking hero with a fast-paced adventure story, complete with thrills, spills and romance, it’s the perfect family experience.’
