WATCH: The new trailer for George Clooney's The Monuments Men

The WWII drama is the true story of a small team of soldiers tasked with rescuing works of art
The trailer for George Clooney's next directorial effort, The Monuments Men, has just landed, featuring a cast that includes Clooney, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin and Hugh Bonneville. You can watch it below.
The Monuments Men tells the true story of a small group of art specialists who, during WWII, attempted to save or recover valuable works of art from the Nazis. While this may sound somewhat frivolous – why go to the bother of rescuing art when there are human lives at stake? – Clooney's George Stout puts a pretty good case forward for the mission:
'You can wipe out an entire generation, you can burn their homes to the ground, and somehow they'll still find a way back. But if you destroy their history, destroy their achievements, then it's as if they never existed.'
Not that the movie is all philosophical grandstanding – the trailer (as well as the presence of Clooney and Damon) gives a hint of some Ocean's 11-style heist action, especially by using a snatch of the Ocean's soundtrack.
The Monuments Men is due to hit UK cinemas on Fri 14 Feb 2014.
