Catch some of Scotland's most talented performers at the annual Hot 100 Party on Fri 1 Nov

This year's anticipated #ListHot100 will be revealed on Fri 1 Nov, and to celebrate, we'll be hosting The List Hot 100 Party in Edinburgh that night at The Biscuit Factory, a trendy arts studio and venue located in the heart of Leith. Enter to win tickets now.

The Hot 100 honours musicians, writers, festivals, artists, dancers, filmmakers, venues, choreographers, actors, comedians, theatre makers, initiatives and more that have helped make Scotland a thriving centre of creativity over the past year.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy performances from a variety of Hot 100 acts on the night, plus beer from Lagunitas Brewing Co and Johnnie Walker cocktails.

Performers this year include comedian Amy Matthews, pop singer SHEARS, dancer Ashley Jack and indie rock band Savage Mansion, while EH-FM radio DJs will be spinning the party jams. Read on to learn more about these talented acts and why you absolutely shouldn't miss them.

Essex-born, Edinburgh-based stand-up comedian Amy Matthews got her start at the Fringe in 2017 and things escalated quickly from there; in 2018, she appeared in the BBC New Comedy Awards top 15 and was also a semi-finalist on So You Think You're Funny. This year, Matthews performed her new Fringe show The Life Aquatic with Amy Matthews at Monkey Barrel and was named Best Newcomer at the Scottish Comedy Awards. Her observational comedy touches on the absurdity of life in the modern world.

Rebecca 'SHEARS' Shearing is an Edinburgh-based singer who got her start on YouTube way back in 2007, performing catchy covers of hit songs and accumulating over 30 million views on her videos. Shearing grew up in Ayr singing opera and playing piano, flute and guitar before moving to Edinburgh to study vocals at university. She recently spent 18 intense months writing, recording and working with Glasgow-based producer Samson and LA-based mixer Matty Green (who has also worked with the likes of Lady Gaga and Ed Sheeran) to develop her new sound. The result is dark synth-pop reminiscent of artists like Tove Lo and Banks. She released her debut single, 'Circle Line', in March of this year.

House of Jack

Ashley Jack is a hip hop dancer and choreographer who has become a popular dance teacher for both adults and children in the Edinburgh community. She completed her dance training in Edinburgh, as well as with hip hop and house dance pioneers in New York, Paris and Holland. In 2017, she founded House of Jack, under which she runs a programme of street dance classes and workshops at a dedicated studio in Leith, and also allows her to engage in outreach programmes for youth and community groups. In 2018, she won Creative Edinburgh's Independent Award. House of Jack Dancers will perform at the Hot 100 Party.

Savage Mansion's influences include The Velvet Underground, Neil Young, REM, Pavement and Parquet Courts, all of which shine through on their debut full-length album, Revision Ballads, released on Lost Map Records earlier this year. Savage Mansion's set is guaranteed to be a fun one, filled with their catchy guitar rock songs.
