Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life! ​ A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. ​ Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.

The promoters of Here Comes The Weekend! bring a special one day event to London's world famous 100 Club! Starting at 9.30am at the former Solid Bond / Phillips Studios in Marble Arch, they'll be a In The City Walking Tour - taking in many former venues, places of interest and thriving areas highlighting The Jam, Small Faces, Sex Pistols, and various other bands and scenes. The walk finishes at the 100 Club where you'll be taken down the stairs into the venue and be able to order a drink, sit down and be royally entertained with two Q&A's! The first will be the one and only Bruce Foxton of The Jam and Woking wonder Steve Carver in conversation with Pat Gilbert about Punk, the early days of The Jam and playing the 100 Club. The second will focus on the new book In the Shadow of the Sun - Paul Weller and the Nineties with its authors Nicky Weller and Stuart Deabill with photographer Lawrence Watson. This will be hosted by Dan Jennings. After the Q&A's, we will clear the venue to let the evening's bands load in and soundcheck, which gives you time to go shopping, have a shower, go to the pub or explore London some more! We reopen at 7.30pm where for one night only, The Stanley Road All-Stars will be back to play Paul Weller's biggest selling album in full! Australian rocker Cassidy Paris has a very bright future ahead of her. Raised on classic hard rock and inspired by artists such as Halestorm, Joan Jett, Pink, Pat Benatar & Avril Lavigne, the fiercely determined young woman is on a mission to inspire a new generation. Since the beginning, Cassidy Paris has released two sold out eps Broken Hearted & Flirt, and her first full length record "New Sensation" was released via Frontiers Music Srl in December 2023. At the age of 11, Cassidy met singer songwriter Paul Laine (ex Danger Danger & The Defiants), who developed a unique mentoring role. Paul took Cassidy under his wing to help develop her as an artist and songwriter, collaborating with her in songwriting and producing her music. From early on, Cassidy wanted to deliver a strong message through her music. In 2018, Cassidy Paris released the song 'Stand', a heartfelt song about standing up for yourself as a young woman. Cassidy continues to deliver that message and promotes anti-bullying through her performances. Paris enjoys performing at many schools around Melbourne, and is an active campaigner for the worldwide Metalheads Against Bullying. Prolapse originally formed in Leicester in the early 1990s and earned a cult following for their chaotic live sets, and tense and repetitious songs like Flex and Tina This Is Matthew Stone. They feature duelling vocalists Mick Derrick and Linda Steelyard, who play out an intense soap opera over a ferocious triple guitar assault and pummelling rhythm section. Their releases have included numerous singles and four albums on various labels, including Cherry Red and Radar, as well as recording four Peel sessions. The band has received critical acclaim, including singles of the week on the Radio 1 evening session and NME. They have also toured and shared bills with a diverse array of bands, including Stereolab, Sebadoh, Arab Strap and Sonic Youth. Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus described Prolapse as the best band of the weekend at Reading Festival. After a long hiatus, the band reformed in 2015 and occasionally play live dates. This short UK tour offers a rare chance to experience the Prolapse live show. British singer and pianist Mike Sanchez is one of the most exciting and charismatic performers in the world of rhythm & blues and rock 'n' roll. His indelible image as a frenetic front man, pumping powerful boogie-woogie from the piano in a soaking suit, has won him fans from all over the world and attracted a following from many famous rock and blues legends who have lined up to work with him. Mike Sanchez was born in London to Spanish parents in 1964. At the age of eleven, his family moved to Worcestershire in the West Midlands where Mike took up the piano, developing a strong love for 1950s' American roots music through his high school years. As a teenager he taught himself guitar and formed The Rockets, a rockabilly trio. Shortly after, Mike was introduced to former Chicken Shack, Savoy Brown and Steve Gibbons' multi-instrumentalist Andy Silvester by Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, which led to the founding of the Big Town Playboys in 1984, specialising in authentic post-war Rhythm & Blues.

Helicon formed in 2008 and have released quite a body of work in their time as a band. The Eps have long sold out. Their first complete album released on Fuzz Club Records is currently on its second pressing. The second album "This Can Only Lead To Chaos" saw Helicon embark on a tour of the Uk, this release was followed up with a Fuzz Club Session. Hot Box was one of the lucky stops in that tour. They sounded incredible that night and converted the room into Helicon fans. The band will be travelling from Scotland with sitar and pedal boards in hand en route to their tour around Europe. They will create some of the finest Psych Rock to grace the earth. The rock solid rhythm section of this band gives the guitars and synths the space to colour the sound. Get ready build a breath taking wall of noise. Early tickets are strongly recommended for this evening as it will be busy. All ages under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

Jon Gomm, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire in the UK, is an acoustic singer-songwriter with a revolutionary virtuoso guitar style, where he uses one acoustic guitar to create drum sounds, basslines and twisting melodies all at the same time. The emphasis is still on the soulful vocals and songwriting, and his original material is influenced by everything from Robert Johnson to Radiohead. His live shows combine deeply personal performances and a natural wit, with a once seen, never forgotten two-handed guitar style, both physical and complex, producing sounds people can barely believe are coming from a humble acoustic guitar. Jon first laid his hands on a guitar at the age of two (actually it was a ukulele - his parents couldn't find a guitar small enough). He wrote his first song at the age of six, and was soon accompanying his father, a music critic, to gigs in his hometown of Blackpool. Touring musicians would often stay at the Gomm household on the understanding Jon would get a guitar lesson, meaning he had one-to-one instruction from such blues legends as BB King and Jack Bruce of Cream. Nowadays, Jon tours worldwide. In January 2012 his song Passionflower went viral online, with the video passing 6 million hits, resulting in national TV appearances in the UK, Portugal, Holland, Brazil and Turkey.

Jim Bob was born to two parents Frank and Jenny. Jenny was a singer, long distance swimmer and speed skater, while Frank was a theatre stage manager and carpenter. So, as show business, showing off and to a lesser extent carpentry was in the blood, Jim set out on the yellow brick road to fame and fortune. Following years of pop struggle Jim would release his first records with the band Jamie Wednesday, whose horn section Jim would work with again fumfty years later as a solo artist (when Jim was reading a book about learning to play the recorder and discovered it was written by Jamie Wednesday sax player Simon). After Jamie Wednesday Jim Bob formed Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine with guitarist Fruitbat. Together as Carter they would have 14 top 40 singles and four top ten albums (including a number one), selling over a million records and touring the world. With Carter, Jim Bob would become known for his socially aware pop lyrics and in particular his use of puns. Carter split in 1997 but reformed ten years later for two massive sell out, life affirming gigs that would lead to more sell out Carter shows in 2008 and 2009. In 2011 they headlined the Beautiful Days festival in Devon and three more Carter gigs followed in 2012: Glasgow, Leeds & London. Finally in 2014, the last Carter shows were announced: A headline slot at the Bearded Theory Festival, a BBC 6music live performance from Maida Vale and two last hurrahs in London. The 5,000 capacity Brixton Academy gig sold out in minutes. Outside of Carter Jim Bob has had a long and varied solo career. He has released eight albums solo and with his discopoppunk band Jim's Super Stereoworld. Jim's autobiography 'Goodnight Jim Bob On The Road With Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine' was published by Cherry Red Books in 2004 to critical acclaim. Jim has written songs for Ian Dury and for the 2006 Barbican production of Mark Ravenhill's Dick Whittington & His Cat, directed by Edward Hall and starring Trigger from Only Fools and Horses. In August 2010 he made his Edinburgh Fringe debut in the Ward and White musical 'Gutted, A Revenger's Musical'. His seventh solo album 'A Humpty Dumpty Thing' came with a mini novel 'Word Count', which Jim adapted as a screenplay for a Hollywood production company. His eighth solo album 'What I Think About When I Think About You' was recorded with 26-piece The Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra. Jim Bob has written four novels; 'Storage Stories' (Ten Forty Books), 'Driving Jarvis Ham'(Harper Collins), the award winning best seller 'The Extra Ordinary Life of Frank Derrick, Age 81' (Pan Macmillan) and its follow up 'Frank Derrick's Holiday Of A Lifetime' (Pan Macmillan), published under the name J.B. Morrison and translated into French, Italian, German and Dutch.

The Soledad Brothers were an American blues-punk/garage rock trio from Maumee, Ohio. Known for a raw, high-energy sound heavily influenced by gritty blues-rock, the band originally featured Johnny Walker (vocals/guitar/harmonica) and Ben Swank (drums), later adding Brian Olive (saxophone/guitar).

A whiskey soaked voice with a string of critically acclaimed albums; Jon was discovered by legendary guitarist Mark Knopfler who heard him singing at a party in West London. He subsequently toured with the guitar icon supporting him at Wembley Arena and on the rest of the European leg of the 'All The Road Runners' tour with Emmy Lou Harris. Mark Knopfler also played guitar and sang on his song 'Sarah' that appears on his fist album 'Dead Man's Suit'. In the last ten years Jon has carved out a niche as a recording artist and live performer supporting such acts as Damien Rice, Brian May, Seal and Dionne Warwick whom he supported at the Albert Hall. His songs and distinctive voice can be heard across films and TV both here and in America. Dave McCabe Announces second UK Tour with James Jay Lewis. After recently stepping out with his debut solo single “When You’re Young”, Dave McCabe is heading back on the road this November for a run of UK dates, joined once again by special guest, James Jay Lewis. Best known as the voice and songwriter behind The Zutons, McCabe’s move into solo territory has already made a strong impression. “When You’re Young” has been tremendously well received and already a firm live favourite. Earlier this year, McCabe and Lewis played a run of shows together that quickly gathered momentum, with packed rooms and a great response night after night. This new tour builds on that, taking them to more venues across the UK through November and into December. McCabe’s set draws from material throughout his rich writing career, from Zutons classics, to songs he wrote for other artists and glimpses of his new music, the second of which will be released in advance of the tour. Jay Lewis is a perfect fit for the bill. A Liverpool-born multi-instrumentalist, he’s worked with Cast and The La's over the years, and has been steadily building his own solo following. The legendary 100 Club, one of the world's iconic surviving independent music venues, hosts the first of two special evenings celebrating the 50th anniversary of the groundbreaking 100 Club Punk Festival, September 1976 the event that helped ignite the UK punk movement and changed music forever. Kicking off the celebrations are Stinky Toys, widely recognised as France's first punk band and one of the few non-UK acts to appear at the original 1976 festival. Their return to the UK stage their first performance here since 1977 is a rare and historic moment. Rising from the Paris underground, they fused art-school cool, glam flair and raw punk energy, becoming cult favourites across Europe and one of the era's key pioneering groups. Headlining the night is Mark Laff's X Generation X, performing a set inspired by the energy and attitude of early Generation X. Capturing the spirit that defined the era, the band revisit the sound of late-70s London punk in the very room where so much of that history was made. Hosting the evening is Terry Chimes, founding drummer of The Clash, who will share memories and reflections from the formative days of punk's emergence in London. This first night offers a rare opportunity to experience the spirit, sound and atmosphere of punk's original movement in the place where history was made.

The second night of the 50th anniversary celebrations at the 100 Club continues by honouring the legacy of the original 100 Club Punk Festival, bringing together artists whose music helped shape the future of punk and alternative music. Support for the evening is TV Smith and The Bored Teenagers, performing a special and exclusive Adverts 77 set that revisits the sharp songwriting and outsider spirit that made The Adverts one of punk's most influential bands. TV Smith's live performances remain celebrated for his intensity, intelligence and emotional honesty, capturing the atmosphere of punk at its most vital. Headlining the night is John McKay's Reactor, led by the pioneering guitarist whose innovative playing with Siouxsie and the Banshees helped redefine the possibilities of post-punk guitar music. Atmospheric and hugely influential, McKay's sound became a blueprint for countless bands that followed. The evening will be hosted by Marco Pirroni, a member of the original Banshees line-up and a central figure in the early punk and post-punk scene. Throughout the night, he will share memories and stories from a period that transformed British music and culture. Set against the backdrop of the historic 100 Club, the second night celebrates not only the raw beginnings of punk, but also the creativity, experimentation and influence that continued long after 1976.

Born and raised in Galveston, Texas, Loomis is the son of musician parents who listened to blues, rock and soul. Music ran in his veins and, with instruments readily available around the house, he picked up drums, piano, guitar and harmonica, honing his multi-instrumental talent in addition to performing regularly as part of his family's doo-wop group. A protégé of Bo Diddley, Loomis met the icon backstage at the age of 16 at Houston's famed venue Rockefeller's. Before the night was over, Loomis was onstage playing guitar with the legend. Diddley quickly became friend, mentor, collaborator and supporter, appearing on two of Loomis' albums and presenting a cherished red guitar that he still plays. Loomis and crew shine on stage proving his music is best experienced in person, where one can see and hear its intended splendor. Described by Blues Blast Magazine as a non-stop turbo of power, one minute moving from side to side of the stage, and then taking on his horn player in a head-cutting contest on the apron of the stage the next minute. Loomis' energetic, get-in-withthe-crowd antics are infectious. The swaying and clapping are just as he envisioned. Being comfortable on stage is something that comes completely natural to me, he says. I feel joy when I play music and it literally moves me. It moves my body. I learned long ago that whenever music is coming from you, from deep inside your soul and from the right place, people will feel that on a deeper level and might not even know what's going on inside of themselves. I enjoy engaging the crowd and feel a show should be an interactive experience.

Dub Pistols are a London based dub music and big beat band, founded by ex-club promoter, Barry Ashworth, in 1996. The other members of the band were record producer and bassist Jason O'Bryan, Brooklyn producer and lyricist, T. K. Lawrence on vocals, Jap Slt guitarist John King, and turntablist DJ Stix / Steve Hunt. Guest songwriters and vocalists include Blade, James Dewes Sheffield (JMS), Rodney King and Terry Hall. In 2008 Dan Bowskill joined the band.

Baba Yaga's Hut and 100 Club present... Gwenifer Raymond Wales born, Brighton-based instrumentalist Gwenifer Raymond is a celebrated champion of the finger-picked guitar. She has drawn international acclaim for her repurposing of Mississippi blues and John Fahey’s intricate Americana to embody her roots in rural South Wales and her interests in folk horror and the avant garde, inventing a new form dubbed Welsh Primitive. The Guardian has described her as a “profound talent” whilst The Observer has praised her “awe-inspiring technique and intense musicality”, and Uncut Magazine has championed her “fast-developing talents as a composer of eerie menace.” In April this year Gwenifer signed to Fat Possum Records and her first two albums are being reissued this summer. You Were Never Much of a Dancer (2018) and Strange Lights Over Garth Mountain (2020) - the latter a Welsh Music Prize nominee - will arrive via We Are Busy Bodies in conjunction with Tompkins Square Records, who originally released them. Join The Smyths as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of two iconic Smiths albums, The Smiths and Hatful of Hollow, that feature such classic tracks as “This Charming Man” “What Difference Does It Make?” “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now” and “How Soon Is Now”.

Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto formed Buzzcocks in Bolton in February 1976. The band, completed by the addition of Steve Diggle and John Maher, opened for the Sex Pistols in Manchester on July 20th, a follow up to the now (in)famous Lesser Free Trade Hall gig which Devoto and Shelley had organised the month before. Gigs in Manchester and London followed, and by the end of 1976, Buzzcocks became one of the first groups to form their own independent record label - New Hormones - on which they released the now-legendary and seminal ‘Spiral Scratch’ EP. The following year saw the departure of Devoto and the recruitment of bassist Steve Garvey. In August 1977, the band signed a recording contract with United Artists Records and released the landmark ‘Orgasm Addict’ single. This was swiftly followed by ‘What Do I Get?’, the band’s first entry into the UK top 40 singles chart and the first of a string of chart singles. Over the next three years, Buzzcocks toured extensively and released a trilogy of outstanding albums: Another Music in a Different Kitchen, Love Bites and A Different Kind of Tension, as well as the hugely influential and popular Singles Going Steady compilation. In 1981, the band went their separate ways to undertake new projects. 1989 saw the reconvened Shelley/Diggle/Garvey/Maher line-up tour the world again by popular demand. Since then, the Shelley/Diggle partnership has been the core of sustained and successful activity without pause, punctuating the years of high profile gigging to date with six successful and well-received studio albums, culminating in 2015's The Way. Few have had the longevity and sustained creative energy to produce the seemingly endless stream of truly original and fantastic pop songs that Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle have consistently delivered over the last four decades. Original and best. With the untimely passing of Pete Shelley in December 2018, Buzzcocks have continued to play live shows with founding member, Steve Diggle, taking over vocal duties to front the band. (A guest guitarist will be added to all live shows) Steve has sung with the band from the very beginning, writing 50 songs, including hits “Promises”, “Fast Cards” & “Harmony in my Head”. He will be joined by the long term current line-up of Danny Farrant (Drums) & Chris Remington (Bass) performing all the classic Buzzcocks hits & more.

With a distinctive gravel-edged voice and a focus on well-crafted songwriting, Jon Allen sits somewhere between British classic rock and contemporary folk. Hes built a global audience over the years, with more than 40 million streams across platforms. His latest album, Seven Dials (Warner Chappell), draws on the underworld of 18th-century London, pairing detailed storytelling with textured, atmospheric arrangements. Performing with his four-piece band, The Luna Kings, Jons live shows are rooted in guitar-led arrangements, taking cues from 70s rock while keeping a modern, song-focused approach. His debut album, Dead Mans Suit, received strong critical support and led to an appearance on BBCs Later with Jools Holland. Since then, his music has featured across film, television, and advertising, alongside regular festival appearances including Glastonbury. Jon studied at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, where he had the opportunity to collaborate on songwriting with Paul McCartney. It was also where he met the core members of The Luna Kings, including guitarist Randall Breneman and drummer Craig Connet. Although the band parted ways early on, they later reconnected, bringing a more grounded dynamic to their work together. Today, their live performances are defined by musical chemistry, individual flair, and a shared passion that brings Jon Allens songs vividly to life.
