Chantel McGregor

Chantel McGregor

4 Apr 2026 - 10 Dec 2026

The Blues came calling first, but rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldn’t it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life! A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.

Smote

Smote

9 May 2026 - 13 May 2026

Baba Yaga's Hut Presents: Smote SMOTE, once a solo endeavor by Daniel Foggin, now expanded to a fuller ensemble blends traditional instrumentation - creaking strings, funeral drums, somber winds - with thunderous synth work and desolate guitar to craft drone and dirge. The new album “A Grand Stream” (Rocket Recordings 2024) is a full-scale psychic voyage into the ether and a drone-and-repetition-fuelled series of incantations that takes simple, primal ingredients and utilises them for the purposes of aural sorcery, summoning spectres and revelations aplenty in its wake. Smote’s austerity is one that refreshingly escapes the usual trappings of avant-garde music, simply by the force of its elemental vitality and its grounding of negative aural space. Its overpowering wall of sound still holds enough natural grace that it escapes the oppressive abusiveness of, say, Swans, and yet it is relentless in its forward thrust. “A Grand Stream” takes the band - one who’ve always eschewed the cliches and stumbling blocks of all contemporary psych rock in favour of their own unique and wyrd vision - into a realm in which they transcend through willpower and skill alike into something preternaturally thrilling and intimidating, mapping out their own crepuscular new territory in the paranormal. Proud Mary

Proud Mary

8 May 2026 - 16 May 2026

´´I remember early spring, I remember everything…” And early Spring 2001 it was when Proud Mary first appeared on the scene. Proud Mary’s first single Very Best Friend was just a small taste of the infectious songs that the band had to offer – later followed by another limited single in the form of All Good Things. The two singles were just a taster of the band’s glorious debut album The Same Old Blues, produced by Noel Gallagher in just ten days and released on Gallagher’s very own Sour Mash records. The influences of Dylan, The Rolling Stones and The Faces were there to be heard yet at the same time the band had managed to create a Rock’n’Roll record that touched the heart and fed the soul of the current generation. The second album Love and Light included the indie chart hit Mexico and features work from Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and Gordon Raphael (The Strokes). A more experimental album than their debut, the tracks mix soul, blues, gospel and of course good old fashioned Rock’n’Roll.

The Dirty Nil

The Dirty Nil

27 Jun 2026 - 7 Jul 2026

The Dirty Nil play rock and roll. Loud, distorted, and out of control, they play like it's a fever they're trying to sweat out. Reveling in the din of distorted guitars, pounding drums, and desperately howled vocals, the Hamilton Ontario three-piece makes music for turntables and hi-fi's - music for dive bars and house parties - for beer drinking and joint smoking - for road trips and barbecues - for fighting and yelling and shouting and singing and screaming and howling - for sweating and bleeding - trying and failing and trying again anyways. Gravel-in-your guts, spit-in-your-eye, staggering, bloodthirsty rock and roll. They have two 7"s available that capture the snarl and destructive noise they create. The Dirty Nil play rock and roll - cause they couldn't do a damn thing else if they tried.

Will Wilde

Will Wilde

25 Apr 2026 - 18 Sept 2026

Will Wildes intense harmonica style steals the spotlight from the traditional blues rock guitar, with a sound that owes as much to Gary Moore as it does to Sonny Boy Williamson. "Im always looking to make new sounds with the harmonica, pushing its boundaries, trying to change peoples perception of it. In fact Will has gone one step further and created his own signature "Wilde Tuned" harmonicas so he can play licks that werent possible before. They enable me to hold my own with any blues rock guitarist.
Orcutt Shelley Miller

Orcutt Shelley Miller

23 Apr 2026 - 23 Apr 2026

ORCUTT SHELLEY MILLER are a guitar, bass, drums power trio. Featuring incendiary guitarist Bill Orcutt, psych-seer Ethan Miller (Comets on Fire, Howlin’ Rain), and dynamic powerhouse Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth). Despite rhythmic nods to the SoCal '60s, the overall vibe of Orcutt Shelley Miller is angular, atonal slash piled on a mid-'80s SST punk-fusionoid substrate, with Orcutt's bristling chords anchored by Miller's ebbing/ flowing bass. In the engine room, Shelley, the most beat-anchored of the trio, never quite abandons the two-and-four pocket but scrabbles around it, skitters over it, burrows under it, ultimately tapping a sort of Michael Hurley-gone-motorik vibe on the longer tracks. "Four-Door Charger," easily the most tranced-out of their tracks, passes through kraut-funk on the way to a solid Klaus Dinger-meets-Lothar Meid churn. Orcutt Shelley Miller’s self-titled debut album is out now on Silver Current, and sounds like a fully formed beast, rather than a mere sum of its distinctive parts. For the improv shy listener, I can gladly inform you that it sounds like Orcutt sketched out a few of the heads beforehand, so there's plenty to clutch onto amidst the slashing Ginn-esque tritones, and plenty of the right-angle bursting-clockwork solos that define Orcutt's hypnotic phrasing. ‘Orcutt Shelley Miller’ reads like a "big rock statement" by its constituents that treads the line between good times and blown minds, and as such, it's a top-shelf repeat spinner. The Ex

The Ex

20 May 2026 - 23 May 2026

Baba Yaga's Hut Presents: Few bands are as focused on potential challenges, on what is yet to come, as The Ex. Which is pretty remarkable for a band that celebrated 45 years of existence last year, a turbulent journey filled with an impressive series of highlights. However, nostalgia has never been this band's forte, as they like no other succeed in reinventing themselves, finding new alliances and fascinating challenges along the way. Stay out of that comfort zone for long enough and it just might disappear. Take a look at the band's story - an unpredictably winding road you can partly keep track of with the chronological series of reissues that they have been making available - and you'll conclude that there never was any stagnation. What started with raucous punk, rooted in the squatting and punk movements of the late 70s, turned into an impossible-to-label range that made its mark nationally as well as internationally. The Ex played more than 2000 concerts in 45 countries, often as a pioneer. In the 80s, they were one of the very first Western bands to explore Central and Eastern- Europe, from Hungary to the former Czechoslovakia, Poland and Russia. Only after that, Canada and the United States followed. A crucial link turned up at the start of the new millennium, when the band traveled to Ethiopia for the first time, backed by a VPRO TV crew. It was the start of a unique chapter in the band's history: several tours (on several continents), an intense collaboration with Ethiopian artists (from Getatchew Mekuria, with whom they played more than 100 concerts, to dancer and cultural ambassador Melaku Belay, and many others) and lots of releases ensured The Ex also became a pioneer in the 'crossover' world, where music from different regions collides. The pandemic was a standstill for many, including The Ex. Or perhaps it was more a kind of recharging, as the band is back on national and international stages with new music, ready to return to the studio. Once again, their versatility is evident. Whether you're talking about a legendary rock venue in Amsterdam (The Ex played more than three dozen concerts at Paradiso, with a.o. an Ex Festival during its 50th birthday celebrations) or a festival in Austria where the best of the international free music scene gathers (in november the band plays the legendary Wels Unlimited): the band is so unique that it's all possible. Just like in the previous decades, new opportunities keep turning up. Only recently, Andy Moor and Terrie Ex contributed to a contemporary live soundtrack to Limite (a classic of Brazilian cinema), during the Holland Festival. Once again an illustration of the fact that the band is so much more than four musicians in a straitjacket. The Ex is still an eager sponge for diverse inspirations, as well as a generator for ideas, a way of life, an ode to vitality and an extended hand. And they celebrated this with a festival for their 45th birthday. Not a predictable rearview mirror event, no tribute to what once was, but an opportunity to show what living, organic interaction can lead to in the moment. And right now, early 2025, there's a full new album called If Your Mirror Breaks, and a big tour all around Europe, yes, indeed again: "Forward In All Directions". Presented by Baba Yaga's Hut. Since forming in 2013 as a Sensational tribute to one of Scotland's finest, one-of-a-kind rock sons and his band, the Sensational Alex Harvey Experience (SAHE) have grown to become one of the most respected tribute bands on the circuit. Further, and with no little honour, they are "the best SAHB tribute band out there" as confirmed by Zal Cleminson. That they also have the nod from kin of the late, great and sadly missed Alex Harvey (My dad would have approved" -Alex Harvey Jr.) is another pointer to the combined talents of vocalist Andy Massie, keyboardist David Cowan, guitarist Brian Cartwright, bass player Nelson McFarlane and drummer Chris Killen. (David and Nelson also recorded and toured as members of Zal Cleminson's /Sin Dogs/ and David was also a member of Chris Glen's The Outfit). Prolapse

Prolapse originally formed in Leicester in the early 1990s and earned a cult following for their chaotic live sets, and tense and repetitious songs like Flex and Tina This Is Matthew Stone. They feature duelling vocalists Mick Derrick and Linda Steelyard, who play out an intense soap opera over a ferocious triple guitar assault and pummelling rhythm section. Their releases have included numerous singles and four albums on various labels, including Cherry Red and Radar, as well as recording four Peel sessions. The band has received critical acclaim, including singles of the week on the Radio 1 evening session and NME. They have also toured and shared bills with a diverse array of bands, including Stereolab, Sebadoh, Arab Strap and Sonic Youth. The Polecats

The Polecats

23 Apr 2026 - 3 May 2026

The Polecats formed in 1977. The original line-up was Tim Worman (a.k.a Tim Polecat, vocalist), Martin "Boz" Boorer, (guitarist and vocalist), Phil Bloomberg (bassist), and Chris Hawkes (drummer), who originally played under the name "Cult Heroes." Finding difficulty persuading promoters to book them on the rockabilly circuit with a name sounding "too punk", they adopted Hawkes' suggested band name The Polecats. Hawkes was later replaced by Neil Rooney. The band were first signed by the fledgling British rockabilly record label Nervous Records, and recorded their first single "Rockabilly Guy" at Guitarist Alan Warner's "Lane Studios" in 1979. Formerley with the hugely successful "Foundations" band Warner toured and recorded with the Polecats for about a year. In 1980 the band signed to Mercury Records, and released their most successful LP, Polecats Are Go! They had UK chart success with a David Bowie cover "John, I'm Only Dancing", a reworking of "Rockabilly Guy", and another cover version of the T-Rex (Marc Bolan) song "Jeepster". In 1983, they hit the charts in the United States with their song "Make a Circuit With Me." Shortly after this, John Buck replaced Neil Rooney on drums. Boz Boorer left the group to work as a guitarist, musical director, and co-songwriter with Morrissey, but led a Polecats reunion in 1989, which produced a live album and a new studio set. Raucous Records released a compilation album of Boz Boorer's work entitled Between The Polecats in early 2001. Tim Polecat moved to Los Angeles, California and formed the band 13 Cats with drummer Slim Jim of the Stray Cats, stand-up bassist Smutty Smith of The Rockats, and guitarist Danny B. Harvey of The Swing Cats. Their album 13 Cats is available on Cleopatra Records. Tim Polecat also works as a successful art director and production designer for film, commercials, and music videos. Musically, Tim Polecat also continues to work as a film composer and solo singer-songwriter and is currently touring the US with Slim Jim Phantom as "The Whammy!!" Phil Polecat continues to play with The Polecats, Katy Prado & The Mamboleros, Trio Farouche and as a session musician. In November 2006 frontman Jarvis Cocker of the British band Pulp, along with bassist Steve Mackey, released a 2-CD compilation album, The Trip, which features a wide selection of tracks by artists as varied as The Fall, Gene Pitney, The Beach Boys, The Everly Brothers, Dion, Sonny Bono plus The Polecats with their hit "John, I'm Only Dancing". In June 2008 Disney Pixar film, WALL-E, used The Polecats 1983 hit song, 'Make a Circuit With Me' in their television trailers for the film. The Polecats continue to play to this day...

Jon Gomm

Jon Gomm

8 Oct 2026 - 23 Oct 2026

Jon Gomm, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire in the UK, is an acoustic singer-songwriter with a revolutionary virtuoso guitar style, where he uses one acoustic guitar to create drum sounds, basslines and twisting melodies all at the same time. The emphasis is still on the soulful vocals and songwriting, and his original material is influenced by everything from Robert Johnson to Radiohead. His live shows combine deeply personal performances and a natural wit, with a once seen, never forgotten two-handed guitar style, both physical and complex, producing sounds people can barely believe are coming from a humble acoustic guitar. Jon first laid his hands on a guitar at the age of two (actually it was a ukulele - his parents couldn't find a guitar small enough). He wrote his first song at the age of six, and was soon accompanying his father, a music critic, to gigs in his hometown of Blackpool. Touring musicians would often stay at the Gomm household on the understanding Jon would get a guitar lesson, meaning he had one-to-one instruction from such blues legends as BB King and Jack Bruce of Cream. Nowadays, Jon tours worldwide. In January 2012 his song Passionflower went viral online, with the video passing 6 million hits, resulting in national TV appearances in the UK, Portugal, Holland, Brazil and Turkey.
Jim Bob

Jim Bob

5 Dec 2026 - 6 Dec 2026

Jim Bob was born to two parents Frank and Jenny. Jenny was a singer, long distance swimmer and speed skater, while Frank was a theatre stage manager and carpenter. So, as show business, showing off and to a lesser extent carpentry was in the blood, Jim set out on the yellow brick road to fame and fortune. Following years of pop struggle Jim would release his first records with the band Jamie Wednesday, whose horn section Jim would work with again fumfty years later as a solo artist (when Jim was reading a book about learning to play the recorder and discovered it was written by Jamie Wednesday sax player Simon). After Jamie Wednesday Jim Bob formed Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine with guitarist Fruitbat. Together as Carter they would have 14 top 40 singles and four top ten albums (including a number one), selling over a million records and touring the world. With Carter, Jim Bob would become known for his socially aware pop lyrics and in particular his use of puns. Carter split in 1997 but reformed ten years later for two massive sell out, life affirming gigs that would lead to more sell out Carter shows in 2008 and 2009. In 2011 they headlined the Beautiful Days festival in Devon and three more Carter gigs followed in 2012: Glasgow, Leeds & London. Finally in 2014, the last Carter shows were announced: A headline slot at the Bearded Theory Festival, a BBC 6music live performance from Maida Vale and two last hurrahs in London. The 5,000 capacity Brixton Academy gig sold out in minutes. Outside of Carter Jim Bob has had a long and varied solo career. He has released eight albums solo and with his discopoppunk band Jim's Super Stereoworld. Jim's autobiography 'Goodnight Jim Bob On The Road With Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine' was published by Cherry Red Books in 2004 to critical acclaim. Jim has written songs for Ian Dury and for the 2006 Barbican production of Mark Ravenhill's Dick Whittington & His Cat, directed by Edward Hall and starring Trigger from Only Fools and Horses. In August 2010 he made his Edinburgh Fringe debut in the Ward and White musical 'Gutted, A Revenger's Musical'. His seventh solo album 'A Humpty Dumpty Thing' came with a mini novel 'Word Count', which Jim adapted as a screenplay for a Hollywood production company. His eighth solo album 'What I Think About When I Think About You' was recorded with 26-piece The Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra. Jim Bob has written four novels; 'Storage Stories' (Ten Forty Books), 'Driving Jarvis Ham'(Harper Collins), the award winning best seller 'The Extra Ordinary Life of Frank Derrick, Age 81' (Pan Macmillan) and its follow up 'Frank Derrick's Holiday Of A Lifetime' (Pan Macmillan), published under the name J.B. Morrison and translated into French, Italian, German and Dutch.

Širom

3 Sept 2026 - 3 Sept 2026

Baba Yaga's Hut Presents: Širom at The 100 Club, September 3rd “Širom fashion maximalist avant-garde soundscapes from antique acoustic instruments like the balafon and hurdy gurdy. Their artfully rootless roots music makes an impassioned statement both aesthetically and, more opaquely, politically too.” - Uncut The Slovenian avant-folk trio Širom are back with a sonically and thematically expansive 5th album; a thrilling follow-up to their widely praised 2022 release The Liquified Throne of Simplicity. Navigating almost two dozen instruments (some of which they’ve handcrafted), and hypnotic compositions that often exceed ten minutes in length, Ana Kravanja, Iztok Koren and Samo Kutin court patient, deep-dive listeners via intricately woven atmospheres, rhythms and sonics. In the Wind of Night, Hard-Fallen Incantations Whisper is arguably the sharpest evocation yet of the group’s highly collective music process, enveloping rustic melodic folklore, outernational textures, non-linear song structures and dissonance, and a buzzing ambiance that can at times feel like an ecstatic ritual. Few experimental ensembles from the last decade have created an ouevre as singular and unmistakable as that of this far-sighted trio from the disparate landscapes of Slovenia. Širom truly sound like no one else. Presented by Baba Yaga's Hut. This is an 18+ event

Maya Live At The 100 Club

25 Jun 2026 - 25 Jun 2026

MAYA are a rising force on the UK’s alternative scene, blending raw punk energy with sharp songwriting and a fearless live presence. Their sound pulls from the grit of classic punk and the restless edge of modern alternative rock, delivering songs that are both confrontational and cathartic. Driven by urgent rhythms, distorted guitars, and vocals that cut straight through the noise, MAYA have quickly built a reputation for intense, high-voltage shows that leave little space between the band and the audience. It’s music built for crowded rooms, loud amplifiers, and nights that feel like they might spill out of control. On 25 June, MAYA bring that energy to the legendary 100 Club for a night of uncompromising live music in one of London’s most iconic venues. Expect volume, sweat, and songs that hit with purpose. Presented by Gotobeat. This is an 18+ event
