Soundbytes choir will be showcasing their summer term's work and singing some of pop's best-loved songs! Songs by Tears for Fears, Dusty Springfield, Carole King, Bill Withers and many more. Also featuring Bookham's upper voice choir - The Decibelles! Tickets are FREE for this popular, up-beat, life-affirming and joyful event. We will be supporting the charity Cherry Trees, who will give a short talk about the fantastic work they do. They are based just up the road in East Clandon and help dozens of families every week who have a child with complex disabilities and needs. For more details about this amazing charity, contact www.cherrytrees.org.uk [//www.cherrytrees.org.uk] The doors open 7:15pm, and there will be an outdoor bar set up in the beautiful grounds of Manor House School with plenty of free parking. The concert will last around an 1hr 15mins. There will be an opportunity to donate cash or contactless payments to our chosen charity at the end of the evening. Come and support your local choir and a local charity and leave feeling great!!!

The Surrey Hills are alive...with The Sound Of Music! The Sound of Music hits 60 this year and to celebrate Hazel Hannam (Choir Leader of Soundbytes, SongWorks and The Decibelles) will be leading you in song. Come and learn these beautiful, fun, catchy and well-known tunes composed by Rodgers and Hammerstein back in 1965 and made famous by Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer and their 6 on-screen Von-Trapp children! Words and music provided, all taught from scratch in 2-parts, upper and lower voices with the help of professional pianist and expert singers to lead each voice group, all under the leadership of Hazel Hannam, who has been running and leading successful community choirs since 2009. Arrive at 9:45am for a cuppa and registration, then the day will officially begin at 10am. Bring your own packed lunch. Lunch eaten around tables in the beautiful gardens of Manor House school, under the shade of the gazebos (in the conservatory if it's raining!) Bring a pencil and rubber to mark the music lightly. Music to be handed back at the end. Music will be available to buy at the end if you wish. Teas and coffees or cold drinks and biscuits provided throughout the day. Lots of fun guaranteed! Final sing-through of all the songs, finishing at 3:30pm Free parking Suitable for children over 9 although younger children may attend, at your discretion, if you feel they will enjoy the day and not get bored! Ability to read essential. Please note; there is a booking fee of 3.78 per booking for an adult-priced ticket. This is a fee added on by TicketSource. Children's tickets are charged 2.52 per ticket.
