Mill on the Fleet

The Mill on the Fleet is a restored 18th century cotton mill. It is now an exhibition centre with core displays on the history and heritage of Gatehouse and the Fleet Valley. It has an annual programme of temporary exhibitions in two galleries focusing on heritage and natural history, and contemporary arts and crafts. The Mill also houses the Gatehouse Tourist Information Service, has a popular café for refreshments and light meals, a gift shop, and a bookshop specialising in new and secondhand books. The popular Mill Sessions musical events are held here, as well as other events and concerts throughout the season. The Mill is in a beautiful setting on the banks of the River Fleet and in suitable weather diners can eat on the riverside terrace overlooking the river.
