Reid Concert Hall

The Reid Concert Hall was built in 1859 to serve the University of Edinburgh's School of Music, and fifty-odd years later, the musician and educator Donald Tovey was conducting a legendary series of concerts here, the programme notes for which he later adapted into his still-classic Essays in Musical Analysis. The hall is still used by the University for lectures and rehearsals, as well as public concerts, and the studio downstairs is equipped to record performances.
