Small, independent gin distillery run by a North Uist couple – distiller Jonny Ingledew, a graduate of Heriot-Watt University's brewing and distilling course, with Kate MacDonald directing the creative aspects of the business. Their original Downpour gin (46%ABV) launched in 2019 with plenty of citrus, spice and Scottish heather. A Sloe & Bramble variety (25%ABV), utilising fruit from the island and specially selected ex-bourbon casks for ageing, was launched later in the year – part of an expansion plan that includes a future visitor centre and café on site.
