We will be offering tours of our facilities where you can speak to members about sailing opportunities at Bolton Sailing Club On the water Taster Sessions where all the family can go out together in a sailing dinghy with our skilled sailors Find out about membership of the club You can sign up for our learn to sail courses Relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings with a cup of tea and cake Children can get on the water on their own and have a go in a dinghy On-the-day joining offers Once you have learned to sail we offer new sailing members confidence building sessions, we also run get back on the water, learn to race and a variety of other sessions so that new sailors feel confident to sail on their own in conditions they feel comfortable with. We even offer our members power and safety boat courses. We have an active social as well as sailing calendar with social sailing sessions, formal and in formal training, and active racing fleets. We have clean and bright changing rooms and a comfortable galley - so what are you waiting for come along and see us and bring along your family and friends We also have club boats that can be hired by members at very reasonable rates that you can use after you have learnt to sail so you don't need your own dinghy to sail at Bolton Sailing Club. What do I do next? - Book yourself a place so you can guarantee as sailing session! Useful info What to wear We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and footwear that you dont mind getting wet (just in case!). If the weather isnt very warm a windproof coat would be beneficial. A buoyancy aid or lifejacket will be provided by the club. On the day Dont worry if youve not been sailing before! Youll be taken out on the water with a qualified instructor or an experienced sailor. Minimum age We don't set a minimum age, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. Disabled sailors Sailing Is a fantastic activity for people of all abilities. We have boats and volunteers able to help you get out on the water. More information You could bring a towel and maybe some spare clothes (particularly if you are bringing children).There will be changing facilities on site. Sun hat and sun scream are also important. You may be able to purchase refreshments on site (tea, coffee, cakes etc) so a small amount of cash may be handy. Ive been sailing and want to do more!
